So you got plans?

Wow. At Long Last. We finally broke ground the beginning of April. When I say “finally”, I REALLY mean FINALLY!

We originally wanted to do this renovation in 2020. We had our home of 20 years cleaned out and ready to be put on the market. Our youngest was finishing his senior year of high school. Like the rest of the world, our plans were put on hold during the pandemic. Then we watched as the cost of lumber (and everything else!) skyrocketed.

We decided we would break ground in 2021 and we even sold our home. We are both real estate agents and have witnessed firsthand what the housing market was doing in Missoula. We knew we had to plan way in advance. Thankfully we have a place to live while we renovate but……construction costs were still skyrocketing. We hoped with the availability of vaccines and life returning to some sense of normal that costs might come down. Some did, however others did not so we decided to wait….again!

So here we are in 2022 and things are finally rolling! Even with the 2 year wait, we feel very fortunate to be building. We’ve had this planned for so long that our general contractor has things lined up and ready to rock! Knowing there is a long wait time on things like appliances, we ordered those months ago. The same can be said for cabinets, windows, flooring & tile. They were all ordered before the first shovel hit the ground.
